Artemia
Solar saltworks are inhabited by many species, among them the brine shrimp Artemia salina. During summer, Artemia salina reproduce bearing live nauplii. When the temperatures drop, Artemia salina produce millions of cysts to survive the icy winter and to awaken to new life in the spring. These cysts are collected, processed and packed. Artemia cysts are appreciated by aquarians and hatchers as the source of perfect food for fish.
